Education Code section 51930, et seq. requires school districts to provide sexual health education and comprehensive HIV prevention training to students in grades 7-12.
Effective January 1, 2016, the Legislature has amended the law to provide that sexual health education and HIV/AIDS education are both mandatory for all students.
The curricular materials to be used during this training are available for your review upon request at the school's main office until February 4th, 2026.
If you DO NOT wish to have your student receive the sexual health and HIV prevention training outlined above, please complete the opt-out form (example shown below). Opt-out forms can be found in the Front Office and must be turned in at the Front office before February 4th, 2026.
