Ms. Phillips’ art students took inspiration from Vice Principal Daniel Gervais' #celebratewhatsrightwithcims campaign for their collaborative installation at this year's VVUHSD art show.

“This year saw some changes in the overall structure of the art show, including a theme of social justice,” said Ms. Phillips. “We chose to focus on kindness and strength of character.”

CIMS students and staff were invited to contribute a piece of the larger installation. “We held two lunch sessions in which students gathered around to learn the folding techniques used to make the cranes from their peers,” said Ms. Phillips.

The finished installation was accompanied by the following statement:

The students of CIMS collaborated on this installation to spread kindness.  These paper cranes were handmade by our student body; each representing a student at CIMS.  We invite you, the viewer, to take one as a token of tolerance and strength; a reminder to spread positivity throughout your school and community.
