Athletic Coaching Agreement

If you would like to be a coach at CIMS, your first step is to interview with our athletic director, Danielle Sims, at (760) 955-3201, ext. 45803.

As an Athletic Coach for the Victor Valley Unified School District, you will need to supply the following documentation, pursuant to Education Code 35179. Until certificated personnel has received written verification that the school site has appointed you as a coach, we will be unable to begin the pre-employment process.

1. Fill out the Athletic Coaching Form, available in the front office, and direct it to Rebecca McNeese, assistant to Principal Gaskins.

2. Provide a current TB test (valid if taken within 3 years).

3. Finger Printing (Forms acquired at the District Office).

4. Valid CPR (No On-line Courses). CPR must be sponsored and/or approved by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

5. Valid First Aid Card (no online courses). First Aid Card must be sponsored and/or approved by the American Red Cross.

6. Complete employment paperwork at District Office.

7. For employment eligibility verification purposes, most coaches will bring in their Driver's License and U.S. Social Security Card. (If you cannot provide the above, there is a list of acceptable documents on the reverse of the employment eligibility verification form that you can choose from).

7. Until you have cleared the employment process, you will be unable to be on the school grounds in a coaching capacity.

Once you have been cleared through Personnel:

l. You will be photographed for your Coaching Badge at the District Office.

2. A badge will be issued to you for your sport, and it will be valid for that sport season.

3. If you are a paid coach, you will be compensated for your coaching services when:

a. All coaching requirements have been met. (Fingerprint Clearance, valid TB, CPR and First
Aid Card etc ... )

b. The season has ended. (If the season ends after the payroll deadline, you will be paid the
following pay period).

c. Please contact the site for pay date schedule.

4. Walk-on coaches are paid on the 9th of the month and must come to the payroll department to pick up the check. No checks will be mailed.

5. Certificated contract employees are paid on the 1st working day of the Month.

6. Classified contract employees are paid on the last working day of the month.

7. The school site must submit the timesheet for processing and must meet all necessary payroll deadlines. (Please check with the school site for verification of the submittal of your timesheet).
