ASES Program
Cobalt Institute of Math and Science offers an after school academic support and enrichment program
(ASES)
. Students enrolled in this program receive extra academic support and the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment activities. Participation in this program is open to Grade 7-9 students, and requires students to participate five days per week.
The program runs Monday-Friday 2:30-6 p.m. (1:30 p.m.- 6 p.m. on early days). All students walking or riding the bus will leave at 5 p.m. until March 11, when daylight savings time ends. Students who are being picked up may stay until 6 p.m.
Homework assistance, recreational activities, supper, and enrichment activities are provided to every student. There is NO COST for students to participate, all equipment will be provided (some sports equipment may not be provided).
This is a great opportunity for students to enrich their learning experience at CIMS and have a safe and fun environment to foster their educational, social, emotional, and recreational needs. Students with IEPs, 504 plans, and/or other special needs are welcome in our program!
Students enrolled in the program agree to the following:
•
Attend the program five days per week.
•
Notify site coordinator if student will be absent.
•
Must participate in the Homework Assistance class daily.
•
Remain in the enrichment course assigned for the quarter (site director can change courses under special circumstances). Note: Changes may be needed at different times for the athletic program.
•
There will be a zero tolerance for bad behavior while attending this program.
•
Students will not be able to participate in this program without the attached permission slips.
Applications are available in our front office. The first hour is committed to homework and tutoring; the remaining time features enrichment programs. Light supper is provided.
For more information about the program, please call Brianna Richardson at ext. 45934. If you need to check out your student early, please go to the far right gate at CIMS (see map below) and go to room 1104.
