Front Office Drop Off Policy

The "Front Office Drop Off" policy at Cobalt Institute of Math & Science is designed to foster the development of our students' responsibility, ultimately benefiting your child in the long run. To support this goal, CIMS encourages our students to be well-prepared and organized from the start of the day. By instilling these life skills, we aim to contribute to your student's overall growth. Additionally, this policy seeks to minimize disruptions to instructional time.

1. Make sure all changes in daily transportation are done in advance before your student leaves home. We are unable to verify the identity of the person making the request over the phone, due to safety we cannot deliver any message to the student. The very best way for students to arrive home as intended is for you to communicate your wishes to them before they leave for school in the morning.

2. Jackets, homework, books, materials, etc. will not be delivered to the classroom during instructional time. This will help to teach the students to make sure they have what they need when they leave the house, placing the responsibility on the student; we know they can do it.

3. Ensure that your student brings their lunch to school daily. If a parent delivers a lunch, it will be placed in the front office cart, and you must coordinate with your student to retrieve it from there. Please note that we can only accept food deliveries for your own student; group lunches, such as pizza parties or planned meals, are not permitted. Sneaking in deliveries or food is strictly against our policy due to safety concerns.

4. We ask that you directly e-mail the teacher if you wish to leave a message, make inquiry or seek clarification. You can access their email on our website.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
